What is the McPherson County Christmas Project?
The McPherson County Christmas Project is a joint effort by several organizations to assist families in need during the Christmas season. See our Welcome page to learn more about how each organization contributes to the Project.

What are the different services provided through the McPherson County Christmas Project?
The assistance includes one or more of the following: clothing for children up through 12 years of age, toys for children up through 12 years of age, gifts for teens ages 13 through 18 still in high school, books for children up through 12 years of age, quilts for infants, and food baskets for qualifying families.

How does a family qualify for assistance?
McPherson County families with a combined income at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty level can qualify. The family MUST complete the registration process described on our 'In-Person Registration Completion' page.

Where and when is the assistance provided? 
Christmas assistance is available through a process of Online Pre-Enrollment, In-Person Enrollment, and distribution.

Is there any other assistance during other times of the year?
The McPherson County Resource Council provides some financial assistance for prescription medications, space heaters during winter, and fans during the summer. For these services, contact Churches United in Ministry. The C.U.M. office is located at 215 S Main St in McPherson and is open from 10:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday for families who need assistance. How do I donate financially to the Christmas Project?
Monetary donations of any amount are welcome and can be sent to or dropped off at the McPherson County Community Foundation (1233 N. Main, McPherson, KS 67460, 620-245-9070, mcphersonfoundation.org) any time during the year. Donations MUST be noted as being for the Resource Council. All monetary donations are tax deductible.

What are other ways to donate through the Christmas Project?
There are several opportunities to participate in helping others. Donors are needed to adopt Angels from our Angel Trees. Visit our Angel Tree page to learn more. We will also be accepting food donations for the food baskets. Visit our website after Thanksgiving to learn more about our food basket program.

May I help by donating my time?
Yes! There are a number of times and ways you may give your time and talents to the Project.  Visit our Volunteer page to learn more or to sign up as a volunteer..
